Spaces

I have the hugest lady crush on Simone Haag – Australian interior designer, curator, stylist and writer. Her instinct for aesthetics is incredible. Like the editor of Vogue Living Australia put it: “Simone can intuit the future before it shapes.” Amen and Hallelujah.

This (above) is Simone’s own Mid Century Modernist home in Melbourne. You’ll have seen this place before – it was literally everywhere on the Internet after its first renovation – but recently, it’s had a second glow-up… Simone and hubby Rhys collaborated with Kennedy Nolan on modifications to accomodate their growing family, and the project allowed Simone an opportunity to re-establish the design aesthetic she surrounds herself with.

One of Simone’s specialities is Furniture, Art & Object Selection (hey, dream job) – here’s a recent project she completed for a building company’s marquee showhome (more here)

Not your regular Display Suite… In this project, Simone created a full interior design language for the Inkerman & Nelson townhouses in Melbourne’s inner South East. Much more here.

Simone took care of Furniture & Object Selection and Styling for this dark, moody and textural take on a coastal home
(Tidal Arc House – architecture by Woods Bagot, interiors by Hecker Guthrie. Please go see the rest here)

Another inspiring Simone Haag project: Art Direction of this not-your-typical-showroom for Scandinavian furniture and homeware dealers Fred International (see more here). Though it’s located in an iconic, historic old Melbourne warehouse, the space has been put together as you would a home. One of everything please. And a container back to NZ.
