Moodboard – Sartorial Effect

I wish I was giving my lounge an IRL makeover, but I’ll have to settle for a moodboard instead. The jump off was this wall colour – Effect – from our sponsors and friends at Aalto Paint. Part of Aalto’s collection of new-era pinks, Effect is a flesh-toned neutral with subtle undertones of umber and clay. Painting this colour on your wall is like wearing an elegant camel coat compared to, say, a bright pair of pants – it makes a definite statement of style and confidence, without needing to shout. Continuing the fashion metaphor, it’s quite an editorial colour, but still very wearable, don’t you think? It’s sophisticated yet has a softness about it, too, and pairs beautifully with blonde woods, rusted reds and sage greens. (btw – I also did a version of this moodboard with millennial pink elements in place of the burnt reds, and it looked just as lovely.)
