A Few of the Best

Some of my favourite finalists from New Zealand’s highest design honours, the 2018 Best Awards.
I haven’t included any Australian finalists (sorrynotsorry), nor anything I’ve already featured (a fair few).

Studio South for Auckland apartment development, Edition

Fry Baby (Belgian Fry Eatery) by One Design

Port of Tauranga Annual Report by Wave

Studio Akin for Auckland Art Gallery

Fuman for Atomic 25 Coffee

Love this business card that Seachange designed for photographer & filmmaker Agnes Lloyd-Platt
(the whole identity suite is wicked, but I especially love this business card)

Superb, emotional, important work by Colenso BBDO for Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand.
Eleven of the world’s revered Renaissance paintings feature models with symptoms of breast cancer. This photograph is a recreation of a renowned 1654 Rembrandt, and the inspiring woman in it survived breast cancer after finding it through a self check. Part of a whole series called The Survivor Collection that serves as a triumphant reminder that knowledge can beat cancer.

Aspen Lounge Chair by David Moreland and Nikolai Sorensen for Citta

Four different Klim Type Foundry have earned finalist honours

Sunday Best for Mayan Man Tea

Stone Soup – brilliant grassroots magazine connecting New Zealand creatives through the lens of food

No Ugly wellness tonic by Culture&Theory

Hannah Design Studio for clothing label Marle

Very much a favourite – Douglas and Bec brand identity by Natasha Mead
